1990年度奈良県立医科大学ぺインクリニック外来の動向(1988，1989年度との統計的比較検討)

Abstract

The 156 new out-patients visited our pain clinic in 1990, their complaints were classified as follows ; herpes zoster and post-herpetic neuralgia 28 (18%), cancer-related pain 26 (17%), neck, shoulder and upper extremity pain 23 (13%), lumbago and lower-extremity pain 21 (13%), peripheral vascular disorders 21 (13%), reflex sympathetic dystropy 14 (9%), headache and facial pain 9 (6%), and others 14 (9%). Compared with the tendency of 1988 and 1989, cancer-related pain decreased, whereas peripheral vascular disorders increased ; sympathetic ganglion blocks were frequently performed to resolve ischemic lesions of peripheral vascular disorders. Another topic in 1990 was the increase of numbers of neural blocks under fluoroscopy for musculo-skeletal painful diseases, such as spondylosis, disc herniation, facet syndrome and others. Peridurography, selective radicular block, intervertebral discography, facet block and radiofrequency thermocoagulation were employed for these diseases diagnostically and therapeutically.
