Praziquantelにより駆虫し得た広節裂頭条虫症の1幼児例

Abstract

The case of a 6-year-old girl infected with Diphyllobothrium latum is described. About 3 months previously, she had eaten sashimi (sliced raw fish) of salmon, the second intermediate host of D. latum. On the day before treatment, food intake was restricted and she was then treated with a single administration of 600 mg of praziquantel (30 mg/kg). After administration of a laxative and an enema, the moving worm of D. latum with scolex was discharged with the stool. There were no side effects during treatment. Three months after treatment, stool examination did not reveal any parasite eggs in the stool. Treatment with praziquantel could be one of the more satisfactory and safer anthelmintic methods in child patients with D. latum infection.
